ChooseAFinancialAdvisor.com ("we," "us") is operated by Thin Air Studios LLC. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect from visitors
- Searches and filters you enter, such as a city, ZIP code, or advisor name, to show you results.
- Your location, only if you choose "Near me." Your browser asks permission first. Your approximate position is used in your browser to find nearby advisors. We do not save it.
- Saved advisors, comparisons, and your last searched location, which are stored in your own browser so the site remembers them. You can clear them anytime by clearing your browser's site data.
- Usage information collected automatically, such as pages visited, device and browser type, and general location derived from your IP address, used to keep the site working and improve it. We use Google Analytics for this, and only after you accept analytics cookies.
- Information you send us, such as an email to our support address or, in the future, a contact or profile-claim form.
- Reports you send through the "Report an error or request removal" form on any profile. The form collects your email address and the details of your request. We use them only to handle that request.
Information about financial advisors
Advisor and firm profiles are built from public records that firms and advisors file with regulators, including the SEC's Investment Adviser Public Disclosure data. We publish professional details only: name, firm, office location, experience, licenses, designations, and firm contact details. We do not publish home street addresses where the public record omits them. Advisors can contact us to correct or update their information at hello@chooseafinancialadvisor.com.

How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site (such as hosting and analytics), under contracts that limit their use of it; when required by law; or as part of a business transfer.

We use browser storage to remember your preferences and Google Analytics cookies, which are set only if you accept them in our cookie banner. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Your choices and rights
